WV Vets is a group of veterans of WWII, Korean, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom and other service arenas who continue to serve this great country--the United States of America. Our Mission is to live the Honor, Duty, and Country that we brought home with us from our military service; to foster a community for other Veterans to join in this quest; to provide a counter voice to the actions of those who would demean our service, the service of those currently on duty protecting our freedoms, and the memory of those who gave their all for the United States of America; and to set an example for those who will follow us.
Our motto could be: "Duty, Honor, Country."
The WV Vets group is made of vets from all three major political parties. We originally formed for the sole purpose of defeating John Kerry as president because we felt Kerry was unfit for command. We were non-partisan and called ourselves "Vets for Bush" although we did not represent the Republican party or any candidate (other than unofficially President Bush). We do not endorse or represent any social, economic, or political position.
After the election the WV Vets continue to support our active duty and veteran personnel. We worked to keep the 130th Airlift Wing in West Virginia. And then we began to stand against the left-wing led anti-war movement and that is the focus of our mission until our military personnel return home victorious.
The WV Vets who have volunteered for this operation are under the "Vets for Victory" banner. We will engage in activities which will display that support to the public. Our purpose is to educate the public about why we do not support the "cut and run" crowd.
We encourage all veterans to get on the "roll" and help us continue to Hold the Line.
